✥Hillsong UNITED~A Flashback to the advent night of Christmas!☆

the 7th day of the 3rd week before Christmas people were all geared up
and in the perfect festive mood for party with Hillsong to make it a
night worth remembering. They all assembled in the open area in front of
the first gate on the west side of the 'Charni Road' station road.
In
what we term as 'passionate days' it comes around as blessings from
God. This was one of the most anticipated show in a long time for me and i'm sure was for the others too, it
came swiftly, i was much happy.
Rejoice,
rejoice, people of Mumbai you are in for a wonderful Praise party.
Shout for joy, you people of the city of dreams. Something to that
effect was accentuated in my mind as I was walking the street towards
the venue with my good friends. There at the crossroad i see and hear a
little boy trying hard to convince his parents to let him go and see
what was happening inside the venue saying; "it is just one time
experience in a lifetime, please let me see!" (but of course he used the
regional language). I hope he made it to see Hillsong and got his
desire to rest for the best. At about this time my welcome was worn out
by the song "Mighty to Save" which i was looking forward to hear the
most. However, I didn't get to see them play that song as I only reached
the venue by the end of that song (8-ish pm- well, i said to myself
lessons learned). I, the mighty :) had the entire rest of the evening up
until 10 am to be a part of such a spirit-filled celebration.
I
had the amazing opportunity to see Hillsong united play Live from so
close like how I used to watch their concerts on my tab. There was a
full capacitated crowd and the sound in the entire open-air venue was
just fab. The crowd erupted with praise and many knew their lyrics right
and may have lost voices singing them loud, also the lyrics were
flashed on the video montage and that came easy for us all. It was like
Jesus had called called everyone and have gathered them together. The
whole place was filled with people. Don't know the depths of the
chowpatty beach but sure having witness this, I can say that the waves
of the sound struck deeply. I was completely spellbound to see the
energy that night, the atmosphere set before me and all around me, the
excitement within the crowd, the reaction of the audience dancing and
lifting their hands up to heaven. Wow, great & mighty is the Lord
our God.
There
were so many Australians who were standing next to us in a group and
then there were so many other foreign tourists I could spot at the
venue. It was so nice to see all cultures coming together. Showing their
love for music & such great response.
The
songs were well-connected and kept flowing one after the other and i also had the pleasure
to hear some of their new songs that resonated so very well with the
heart of mine. Just before they played one of those songs, the vocalist
who leads worship in the band had these beautiful lines to say;
"Fear is the cancer, take it out. Where God is present, fear goes away."
Also, A pastor came and recited a nice crucifix focused prayer.
I
had my dream-show, dancing to glory along with the enthusiastic crowd.
How good & beautiful Mumbai was looking this day. The songs played
at the end led us to go absolutely crazy. The spirit of Mumbai was seen
shining therein. The crowd was loudest having been treated with some
anthemic worship encore towards the end (One Way Jesus, You're
the only one that i could live for!)..it turned out to be a fully-blown
praise party, as though like a rocket propelled-up to the open heaven.
Indeed! We were glad that Hillsong threw a big Christmas party to us.
With
shouts of praise, those lights across the sky that lights it up from
one side to the other; it felt like Heaven on earth. All in all, It was a
Jesus-filled, power-packed day with glorious moments. The city looked
most happy as they all rejoiced in the presence of the Lord. By God's
grace, all went pretty fine. My sincere thanks goes out to all of the
crew members, the cops, the sound engineers, the people for coming out
in large numbers and last but not the least the showstoppers for that
day-the band themselves!
For
those who couldn't make it to see them, my empathy is there with you
for it was not a show to be missed at all. However, You can or we can
both certainly hope for more of such gigs to happen in and around the
city.
