Versova Koli Sea-Food Festival~A taste of Mumbai in the form of Yummy Seafood dishes [26-01-2014]

Versova Koli Sea-Food Festival

Each festival seems to thrive in its own unique way. Some flourish by extensive advertisements and some because it makes you hungry for more. East Indian sea-food festival is one of a kind that would make you visit the place year after year for the love of eating. If you are a foody by heart and like sea-food or east Indian cuisines then this event is the only place probably where you can eat all kinds of east Indian dishes. Along with the attractive banners all over from the entry gate to the last stall, the Koli’s pull attendees in by bringing something completely unique to the table. They stand at their respective stalls and greet the people visiting their stalls with much respect and enthusiasm and cater them well and request to try their mouth-watering delicacies. You will find food stalls where under the flaming stove flavors mingle and the aroma is all around that huge ground which again becomes the reason for the crowd around those stalls. What seemed like a decently impressive set-up was the arrangement of chairs and tables. It could give a lot of comfort. One could spot beautiful looking East Indian aunties in their traditional sarees/Outfit and it should go without saying that they looked presentable with a lot of gold and ornaments around their neck.  The first thing that I saw was the pomfret and huge tiger prawns slathered in thick red masala . You could almost find everything like Bombay duck fry, grilled lobsters, sizzling surmai, rawas, lobster curry, prawn curry, stuffed crabs, fish roe fry, prawn frankies, tuna pakodas, stuffed squids, fugya’s ,they were all there for a lip-smacking meal. And once you decide on what you would want to have on the platter out of these so many options, you should go try the Sol curry [after your meal that makes for a refreshing drink]. It is when you go to these fairs is when you know the real price of sea food! .This event has always been like a fantastic opportunity to taste authentic regional home food cooked on the spot!.And what should surprise the people who love to eat and drink that you also get a variety of alcoholic beverages at the stall. So now that you know about this festival, all you got to do is follow the aroma of coastal food and make sure that you come with a big empty stomach and spice up your day. It will be eventful. An Highly Recommended festival- even if you have just heard about butter chicken as the famous food (Pun Intended)!.

I can honestly say that those tiger prawns and lobster's are one of the most tastiest things i've ever had. Makes for a perfect seafood fest!  Yummy Yummy-they're all gone into my tummy !!!

Woah!!! So many spicy savouries that i got to relish at just one festival...it was pretty fiery and i truly had a blast...it show's it..i know it!
